Property-level Visibility into Your Tax Liability

For the correct billing, collection and remittance of transaction taxes, assessment of tangible personal property for general businesses and utilities, or accurate assignment of withholding jurisdictions for payroll tax, CoreLogic offers comprehensive transaction and non-transaction tax databases to alleviate the complexities of tax jurisdiction assignments.

Transaction Tax

Sales and Use and Industry-specific

CoreLogic's Sales and Use Tax database offers enhanced tax information consisting of the lowest level taxing authority for individual locations, the remit to and whether the location is within a Special Tax District (SpTD).  With CoreLogic's precise tax information, businesses can easily determine new required registrations, how to research the applicability of the general sales/use tax to sales and purchases, and understand if it is a home rule city or if the local tax just follows the state statute. In addition to sales and use tax, CoreLogic offers industry-specific tax data sets for cable, telecommunications, utility and leasing. These databases return detailed tax information that includes FIPS Place Codes, lowest-level taxing authority, distance to tax boundary, and remit to FIPS Code.

Special Tax District

Unique Taxing Jurisdictions

Certain state and local governments have established special tax areas to support local objectives such as, schools, better transit systems and new sports stadiums. Special Tax Districts can have unique geographic boundaries that do not follow municipal boundaries. Integrated within CoreLogic's automated tax jurisdiction assignment solution, Site-US Tax, which indicates if an address within a special tax district(s) by indicating Yes, No or PCC (Partial county and/or city coverage). A PCC return highlights areas that have a city or county SpTD that does not include the whole city or county. With the added Special Tax District layer, if an address is within a SpTD, the district identification, type and name are returned.

Non-Transaction Tax

Payroll and Property Tax

CoreLogic's Payroll and Property Tax data sets are comprehensive collections of tax jurisdiction information that incorporates detailed boundary files for state, cities, counties, townships, villages and boroughs, and school districts for forty-four states and Washington D.C. that assess business personal property tax, and the sixteen states that have local income tax withholding requirements.  CoreLogic's databases include the lowest-level asset accumulation and rendition authority and whether intangibles are taxable, and the lowest level at which withholding forms must be prepared based on where employees live and/or work.
